After studies of violin, tuba, percussions and song, Laurent Campellone, in addition graduate from philosophy, learn the direction from orchestra to the Academy Frederic Chopin in Paris.
A 23 years, he is the assistant of the musical Director of the Opera of Toulon. It will occupy this station during five seasons, directing as well the great lyric repertory as the operetta or the ballet to France and abroad (Philadelphia, Bilbao, Naples, Montreal…). On the whole, more than thirty different works, energy of the Tales of Hoffmann with the Valkyrie, while passing through Lucia di Lamermoor and Traviata.
In 2000, he becomes the pupil of Christoph Eschenbach, musical director of the Orchestra of Paris, the Symphony orchestra of Hamburg and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Philadelphia. Learning with this chief the great symphonic tradition, Laurent Campellone consequently extends his repertory to Beethoven, Mahler, Chostakovitch, Messiaen, Berlioz…
In October 2001, at 29 years, Laurent Campellone gains the First Price unanimously international contest of the young leaders of the European Community, organized in Spoleto.

Among his more recent appearances in the lyric repertory, Laurent Campellone directed the Childhood of Christ (Berlioz) to Marseilles, Don Pasquale in Spoleto and within the framework of the Festival of the Lake of Le Bourget, Périchole with the Opera of Marseilles, the Queen of Sheba (Gounod), Sapho (Massenet) and Faust with the Saint-Etienne Esplanade, the Star and the large Duchess of Gerolstein to the Opera of Toulon, the merry Widow with the Opera of Avignon, the Tales of Hoffmann with the Opera of Nantes and the Opera of Angers, Cenerentola with the Opera of Colombia.
Artist chosen by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs to represent France in many countries, Laurent Campellone thus directed the great French repertory (Ravel, Berlioz, Franck, Fauré, Saint-Saëns, Debussy,…) everywhere in the world.

Its last engagements in 2005/2006/2007 included, many symphonic concerts, at the head of great European formations: Elisir d' Amore, the Juggler of Notre Dame, Turandot, Carmen, the death of Cléopâtre (Berlioz), the Udders of Tirésias, Gioconda, the Magic Flute, the Barber of Seville, Cosi fan tutte, Faust (Gounod), the Star, masked Love (Messenger),… in several houses of French opera (National Opera of Bordeaux, Operated of Toulon, Opéra of Saint-Etienne, Opéra Turns, etc).
In 2006 it has in particular resucity the opera more ignored of Gounod : Polyeucte
